Bill grew up in Fayetteville, NC and attended Davidson College, graduating in 1983. Upon his return to Fayetteville, he joined the family business, McFadyen Music, and spent the next 15 years in various forms of management across the 12-store, 225-employee retail chain. Bill became Vice-President of Repair Operations and travelled to nine states overseeing 200 repair technicians. In 2004, Bill resigned from Brook Mays and began brokering commercial real estate for Coldwell Banker Commercial Advantage in Fayetteville. In 2009 he partnered with Franklin Johnson Commercial Real Estate. Bill joined The Overton Group in February 2018 with the goal of furthering the regional expansion of the company. Bill has extensive experience with retail, medical, and industrial leases. He has brokered small and large agricultural, residential, and commercial land tracts. His background in business and his personal ownership of timber parcels, strip centers, and a 106-unit multi-family operation give him a hands-on perspective of what clients need in the pursuit of their own personal and corporate profitability. Bill enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, being involved with his church, writing a monthly column and blog for CityView Magazine, and spending time outdoors.
